Group tuition in Singapore typically runs somewhere between S$200 and S$400 a month for one subject, and one-to-one costs a good deal more. Over a P6 year, one subject in a group class is commonly in the region of S$2,000 to S$4,000.

By P6 the majority of lost marks are not missing knowledge. They are misread questions, poor pacing, and answers that had the right idea in the wrong words. Those need repetition with fast, honest feedback rather than more teaching.

A rough test. Sit one past paper properly and sort every lost mark into four piles: did not know it · misread it · ran out of time · wrote it badly.
If the first pile is much the largest, your child needs teaching — and tuition may well be the right answer. If the other three dominate, your child needs practice with feedback, and that is a far cheaper problem to solve.
Plenty of families do both: a tutor for the subject with a genuine gap, and practice at home for everything else.
